Goldcrest Stained Glass Roundel

The Goldcrest is one of the tiniest birds in Europe and is more often heard than seen but its habitat is in the treetops of pine trees. To see one is said to bring good luck and symbolic of joy, happiness and new beginnings. They are lovely to paint and this roundel has a flash of silver stain on its head which when fired in the kiln gives a golden tint. The glass is a pale amber tint.
